A spring walk around Monthelie and Mersault on the Cote d’Or
- A very persistent spider (not an aberration – I saw several of these.)
- Wildflowers: anyone know what they are?
- The promise of spring is not yet visible
- Collecting the cuttings (a traditional form – I saw quite a few of these).
- Our lady of the vines
- You’d have to try very, very hard to get lost.
- Not a toy tractor, but it looks like one. Normal height, but very narrow to fit between the vines.
- A classic vineyard view.
- Ancient patterns on a landscape
- Definitely cherry blossom time.
- Anda little history…
- Monthelie from the valley.
- The church roof of Monthelie.

From the editor, Natalie Bennett: I bought a small holiday house in Burgundy in 2008, and I'm sharing here my discoveries about this fascinating, historic and ecologically rich region. Elsewhere you'll also find me at
